From April to September, Raft Session welcomes you to the heart of the Gorges du Verdon. Based in Castellane, Raft Session is ideally located for watersports activities on the Verdon river. Whether you choose rafting, hot-dogging, aqua trekking or canyoning, and whether you’re by yourself or with family and friends, you’re guaranteed to get wet and have a huge amount of fun!
Raft Session – Rafting on the Verdon River

From Castellane jump aboard a Raft Session raft and discover the Gorges du Verdon from a whole new angle.
Great for families and groups, the 22 km of river between Castellane and the Verdon Grand Canyon is pure fun. In the spring and autumn the water level is higher and the fun factor is ramped up a notch.
Raft Session – Hot Dogging on the Verdon River
From €38 per person | minimum age 12 years
Hot dogs are inflatable canoes that you paddle by yourself or in tandem. It’s a more energetic and challenging way to discover the Verdon river.
Like a mini raft that you control yourself, hot dog kayaks are super-fun in the whitewater. You’ll be given a wetsuit, a buoyancy aid, a helmet and a double-blade paddle and after a safety briefing covering technique and hazards to avoid, you’re all set to tackle the emerald water of the Gorges du Verdon.
You’re in charge of navigating the craft through the rapids and around rocks and with every wave you’re likely to get a soaking or even fall in. Don’t worry though, the boats are designed to be easy to climb back into.
Raft Session – Aqua Trekking in the Verdon Grand Canyon

Aqua Trekking is like canyoning without the ropes. You wear a wetsuit, a buoyancy aid and a helmet, and swim, jump, slide and scramble your way down the river. It’s a fun and refreshing way to discover the Verdon Grand Canyon.
Lying on your back with your feet pointing down stream and your life jacket keeping you afloat you’ll float with the current through the cool turquoise water of the Verdon river. Huge boulders along the way provide the opportunity for jumps up to 10 m high! Don’t worry, you don’t have to jump if you don’t want to, this trip is all about having fun.
You’ll be accompanied by a guide who keep you safe, show you the way and point out some secret spots in the canyon. Great for groups and families, Aqua Trekking is an enjoyable way to experience the wonders of the Gorges du Verdon.
Raft Session – Canyoning in and around the Gorges du Verdon

Abseil, jump, slide and swim your way down the canyons of south-east France. Canyoning is a highly engaged, technical activity that allows you to experience wonderful and hidden landscapes and have a lot of fun at the same time.
Head a few kilometres inland from the Cote d’Azur and you’ll enter a mountainous landscape carved with deep canyons. From the Gorges du Verdon to the Maritime Alps, the translucent water cascading down through waterfalls, slides and natural swimming pools is the perfect adventure playground.
Stepping up the excitement a notch from Aqua Trekking, Canyoning usually involves some ropework and you’ll be given a harness so you can safely abseil down waterfalls and drop down steeper sections.
Canyoning is considered an extreme sport and your guide’s main job is to keep you safe. You’ll be given a safety brief with instructions on technique so you can tackle each obstacle in the correct way. In between jumps and slides, you’ll have time to take in the breathtaking surroundings.
