Les Gets
Accommodation
Les Gets, just over an hour’s transfer time from Geneva airport, has a good range accommodation options tailored to skiers seeking convenience and comfort. The village’s small size means that many places to stay have easy access to ski lifts and are in or near to the town centre. There are some self-catering ski-in-ski-out apartments that will suit families with kids. The two bedroom Appartement Grizzly is a great affordable option, or the more spacious Edelweiss. For a bit more luxury, Appartement Le Cerf is a highly rated apartment right next to the Chavanes ski lift. For a more traditional alpine experience, Chalet-Hôtel La Marmotte, La Tapiaz & SPA, The Originals Relais is situated opposite the ski slopes and lifts of the Portes du Soleil, offering both catered services and close proximity to the village’s amenities.
Ski & Snowboard Guide
Les Gets is part of the vast Portes du Soleil ski area. This immense outdoor playground includes 12 Franco-Swiss resorts, 650 km of pistes, 195 lifts, 267 marked pistes, 243 km of cross-country skiing and 9 snow parks.
The Skiing & Snowboarding
Les Gets itself is a small, family-friendly resort that offers a good mix of beginner and intermediate slopes. At 1100 m high, the resort isn’t as snow-sure as other resorts in the Alps, but you can access the Morzine slopes on skis and you can get to the high-altitude terrain of Avoriaz by catching a bus to either the Ardent gondola or the Super Morzine gondola.
Les Gets has 48 lifts and 120 km of groomed pistes, including some lovely runs through the trees. The snowpark is well maintained and there’s a boardercross course and 12 km of cross-country skiing.
Les Gets Snowpark
The Les Gets snowpark, located on the Mont Chéry sector under the Grande Ourse chair is a medium sized park with plenty enough variety of modules to keep every type of skier or boarder interested. With a dozen kickers and a dozen rails spread out over quite a large area, the park is well laid out and safe. The park is continually maintained by a crew of five enthusiastic shapers which contributes to the positive vibe. The snowpark is constantly being expanded with new features being added all the time.
Les Gets is also home to the only permanent big module boarder cross course in France. It’s a challenging but super fun run dedicated to local snowboarder and Olympic silver medallist Déborah Anthonioz. The course, located in the Chavannes area, is 523 m long and chock full of modules, including big 10-12 m tables, step ups and step downs, and big transition sections.

Watch this: The Hardest Black Run in Les Gets?
Myrtilles in Les Gets is arguably the hardest black run in the resort. Unlike the other hard runs in the Portes du Soleil, this one is easily accessible and gets an absolute pounding from skiers wanting to test themselves. Some steep sections and moguls can get icy, making it even more of a challenge.
