The Les Orres bikepark is a hidden gem – it’s compact, well thought out and has something for everyone from beginners to pro riders. An active community of trail builders make sure the tracks are constantly evolving and the resort stays open at weekends until the end of September.
It’s testament to the quality of the tracks that despite the fact that it only has 14 trails, Les Orres is the destination of choice for many riders in Provence and hosts the annual Provence Downhill Championships. The green and blue trails are fun and flowy allowing riders new to the sport to progress at their own pace and try out some smooth jumps and berms if they so desire.
For more advanced riders there’s the fast, rolling Rocket trail, the jump-tastic GawAline or the more technical Vallon. Expert riders can pit their wits against the black Crêtes track and the awesome Cool Rider that requires 100% focus and precision riding. The North Shore’s nice too with its succession of challenging features through the forest.
When you’ve sampled all the graded tracks, you can graduate to the natural freeride trails which wind down from the Crêtes des Orres to the Lac de Serre Ponçon. Les Orres could be regarded as a model for resorts who want to open a bike park but don’t have loads of lifts. With just 2 lifts and 14 decent trails, this is an awesome little resort.
