An FFVL licensed paragliding school, Aérogliss Parapente can take you from a complete beginner to a competition level pilot. With 300 days sunshine a year and highly predictable thermal winds, the school’s location in Haute Provence is hard to beat. Aérogliss use the Chalvet paragliding site, which provides the perfect environment for safe and effective training. Located 15 minutes from base, access is on a tarmacked road and the long grassy training hill is free of obstacles and has plenty of space for take offs and landings.
Superb tandem flights for our three girls and the team were excellent! We’ll definitely be back for more…

Flights last between 10 and 15 minutes and you need to allow an hour round trip from the Aérogliss base. Find out more | Go >5-Day Improver’s Course – 565 € (Performance A & B)
Take your paragliding to the next level!
After completing the beginner’s course you’ll be hooked, and it’s time to look at getting your pilot’s licence so you can fly independently. This intense 8-hour per day improver’s course will cover parts A and B of the training you need to get your pilot’s licence (roughly the equivalent of the Elementary Pilot’s Certificate (EPC) in the UK).
The course packs a lot in, with lots of time spent explaining, practising and assessing each exercise. During Performance A, the goal is primarily to become as autonomous as possible on straightforward flights. Once you’ve passed Performance A, the focus is on mastering your control of the canopy and using thermals.
You’ll also learn reverse launch techniques and practice quicker takeoffs. Practical sessions are mixed with classroom time where you’ll learn flying theory, rules of the air and analysis of weather conditions. The days are long, but there’s a decent break in the middle of the day from 12:30 to 3:00 pm.
Find out more | Go >5-Day FFVL Pilot’s Licence Course – 565 € (Performance C)
Become even more independent and fly higher, further and faster!
This course takes you through to the Pilot’s Licence assessment covering Performance C skills and following on from the Performance A & B course.
You’ll fly the smooth morning air to gain confidence and practice taking off, flight plans, approach routes and landings. Again, the 8 hours per day course packs a lot in, with lots of time spent explaining, practising and assessing each exercise.
Building on what you already know, you’ll work on complete canopy control, seeking out thermals, and you’ll undertake your first cross-country flights, all the while analysing the weather conditions. More time is dedicated to reverse launching, flying theory and systematic analysis of weather conditions.
On the afternoon of the 5th day you’ll do the FFVL Pilot theory exam (equivalent to UK Club Pilot), followed by a personalised assessment, and a last flight if the conditions allow.
